What a substitute performance from the new boy Grant Ward. I don’t ever recall a debut performance quite like it. He looks so confident when in front of goal, effortless. For a moment when he was down injured I was fearing the worst, but he has shown that he is tough.
Keep this kid fit, in the first team, and things are already starting to look much brighter for the season ahead.
The other new boys (Adam Webster & Conor Grant) played their part. Conor Grant got 45 minutes under his belt, and also seemed very confident on the ball. I bet he would have loved to have scored as well! Webster was a little shaky from time to time at the back, but that’s the Ipswich way. Hopefully he will sure up over a few games when a partnership with Berra or Smith builds. I’m not sure if Berra is the right man to partner Webster as yet, so would like to see him with Smith in the next match.
The League Cup is Tuesday, not too worried about that however will be good to give some of the other players a run out. Roll on Brentford away.
