Derby day eve.
Just a few thoughts before the big day tomorrow, and those thoughts are mostly echoing what I think a lot of other Town fans are thinking. It’s going to be a huge task to get a win, there’s no other way of putting it. However, as with every match, you have to think there’s a chance things could go well. I think if the team try not to over complicate things and stay solid at the back there’s a very small chance they could finally break this horrible recent record of losses (forgetting the 1-1 first leg play-off draw a couple of seasons back). There’s no denying that Norwich have still got a team full of quality, Premier League quality, and that’s is going to be hard to deal with. What we have to hope is Mick sets the team up as strong as possible and look to attack, there’s no point trying to just get through this and saying a draw is a good result. When Town play at Portman Road, a good result is a win.
It’s a shame that Conor Grant is going to to miss the match, he really looks like he could have made a difference tomorrow. It’s going to be up to the likes of Teddy Bishop and Grant Ward to shine, the youth of our team is what needs to start stepping up and showing the future potential. More than anything tomorrow, we need our strikers to start scoring again. After the disallowed goal on Tuesday vs Wolves, Murphy must only be a game or so away from getting back to scoring, his dry spell has gone on too long.
So, that’s that. A couple of short paragraphs of ramble to set me up for tomorrow. Let’s up that we don’t come out of it embarrassed, that would be a great start!
